“My main role is to supervise our team of desktop and network engineers to ensure implementation projects and ongoing support are delivered to the company’s high standards.”
I come from an IT management background, with a Degree in Computer Aided Engineering, and have worked extensively with clients who use multiple business systems; providing server and workstations solutions to suit. I have worked way up to my current position from very bottom; after leaving university I was desperate to get stuck in with any suitable role I could get my hands on and I found it in the position of IT support for two local schools. Since then I have made every effort to advance myself and move forward as the technology develops around me. Before I joined StoneHouse, I spent several years working as an IT manager for Insider Magazine which gave me the opportunity to work on several unique customer projects, giving me the experience that I can now pass on to our technicians and help to boost our customer relations.
As the Technical Services Manager, my main role is to supervise our team of desktop and network engineers to ensure implementation projects and ongoing support are delivered to the company’s high standards. On a practical level what this means is that I take an active involvement with all network support customer’s issues as well as with the maintenance for all ongoing projects. I take an active involvement with every problems that arises in an effort to take a personal participation with all of our customers, new and old. Since I joined StoneHouse, the technical services team has doubled in size and so it’s always been crucial to maintain the personal level of service we are renowned for. I believe we have made great steps to guarantee that reputation. It’s also great to see individual members of the team develop and grow alongside the business.
A group of us from the office have recently taken up squash; I keep getting beaten and people seem to really enjoy that, but it is all good fun! I love spending time with my wife and my wonderful 2 year old boy, Thomas, who is an absolute handful! I enjoy cooking good quality food, and as a result have developed the delightful nickname of “Waitrose” within the office. I’m also extremely passionate about classic cars and I have a TVR 1600M (which is older than me) that I have been refurbishing for several years now and that has turned into a really enjoyable pass time.
