In recent months Mark has taken on the role of a Dragon in their Dragon’s Den event, where students had an opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of local business men and women.
Sally Hopkins, Young Enterprise Manager – Lancashire, said of the event:
“This is an integral part of our company programme journey, allowing students the chance not only to practice their presentation skills but to gain valuable feedback from an experienced group of business people.”
Mark has also been a member of the organisation’s Question Time panel and supported an award for “The Best Use Of Technology,” which introduced a new tier to the County Awards.
“Having seen first-hand the enthusiasm and innovation the pupils put into setting up and running their own small business I can say that it really develops their skills and attitudes to the world of work. As employers we look to our schools to develop both academic and employability skills and Young Enterprise really does a great job of starting young people on that journey into the world of work, and I’m sure it is also inspiring the next generation of young entrepreneurs.”
